Finding help for older adults and people with disabilities can be overwhelming. Connect to Care makes it easier.

As the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) for Dallas County, we are part of the No Wrong Door system, which is designed to streamline public access to Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) programs. ADRCs serve as key points of access to specialized information, referrals and assistance, and are a one-stop resource for people who need help finding long-term care services.

Advisory Board

The role of the Advisory Board is to advise on Connect to Care’s operations, ensuring we are meeting the needs of the individuals we serve. The board is composed of people who represent all populations served by the program, including individuals who have a disability or a chronic condition, public and private agencies that provide services, government agencies, and other program participants.

To carry out this role effectively, members of the Advisory Board:

Work positively to influence strong community support for Connect to Care
Actively encourage inter-organizational collaboration
Support and advocate as appropriate for Connect to Care
Advise Connect to Care on how to obtain meaningful stakeholder input
Review input and make recommendations
Monitor Connect to Care’s progress toward achieving the vision and goals of ADRC State initiatives
Meet regularly to provide guidance on specific programs and/or operational issues
Serve as a “management think tank” and sounding board for new ideas, recommendations, and input regarding progress of the program
